Ultra slim insulated glazing units

Heritage slim® double glazing, a product that has revolutionized the thermal and acoustic performance of traditional sash windows. Very thin and therefore gives no double reflection, it has a 5mm sightline at the perimeter which means that it will fit the rebate of a 17mm glazing bar.

We can supply & fit  ultra slim glass units, thermally efficient double glazing where normally only a single glazed pane would be previously impossible. By using and maximising the latest technology it is possible to construct a double glazed unit with a very small cavity and an 5mm perimeter sight line, with the specified gas cavity we can obtain U-Values to comply with Building Regulations and comparable (or better than) U-Values obtained by standard units with much wider cavities. Offering a competitive and efficient service, we supply nationwide to joiners, construction companies, architects and trade or DIY customers.

The new slim double glazed unit is a breath of fresh air to architects, joiners, builders and restoration federation bodies. This new technology in the building industry aims to restore and maintain traditional house features, but would like to achieve modern day insulation u-value. Heritage slim® double glazing units are unique in their own right as they are only made by a selection of manufacturers who know the method and skill to produce this product. Comprising only top quality components, the high specification glass units have ultra slim sight lines that allow elegant, traditional fixed glazing bars to preserve the period character of buildings.

The Advantages Heritage slim® Double Glazing

Heritage slim® double glazing with their small overhaul thickness allows the Joiner to use smaller timber sections. The use of slim line IGU can also be used for most existing single glazed windows if required. A small alteration and the slim line IGU will fit the window and can be traditionally faced puttied to any style window.

Listed Building Double Glazing Units and Glazing for Period and Conservation Area Properties -Reproduction Restoration Sheet Glass

Today, there are no companies practicing the art of processing mouth blown sheet glass for the timber window and door industries. We are able to produce very similar effects to the old mouth blown glass by using various types of restoration glass associated with different periods. The restoration glass has many of the characteristic of the old glass such as uneven bulges, drawn lines and seeds (air bubbles). When restoration glass is combined with the construction of slim line IGU’s, it gives old world effect but at the same time meeting current building control which is much preferred by heritage and conservation bodies.

Application:

We supply reproduction “crown” units to recreate historic glass. Finishes, including satin, toughened and patterned glass are also available.

Whether you are making new windows or thinking of conventional double or secondary glazing, use Heritage slim® double glazing  to conserve energy, to save on heating bills and installation, and at the same time preserve the look of your period windows. This revolutionary new product containing high performance coated glass technologies, coupled with super spacer warm edge and Krypton gas meets the requirements of building and conservation regulations.

Benefits:

We use the most up to date and technologically advanced warm edge super spacers that also assist in the achievement U values, together with a butyl hotmelt sealant that has excellent adhesion properties to both glass and spacer bar and a very low moisture vapour transmission rate.

Double Glazed Units are constructed with a 4mm clear outer pane and a selected cavity of 4mm, 5mm or 6mm (the wider cavity the better the insulation), the specified inert gas, which only performs in smaller cavities, and inner pane of 4mm Low Emissivity glass. The low emissivity coating is on the inside face of the cavity and reflects the long wave radiation or heat back into the room. The warm edge perimeter spacer incorporated, ensures an insignificant insulation value between edge and centre of glass. This helps to alleviate the age old issue of condensation around the perimeter of the glazed unit.
